Overall Purpose of the Role:
Events Marketing at emap offers an incredibly fast-paced and dynamic environment. Working on market-leading awards and conferences, the Marketing Executive is responsible for delivering effective marketing campaigns, creating leads, driving awareness, delegate conference bookings, awards submissions, table sales, and supporting the commercial teams with sponsorship marketing activities, through a variety of multi-media methods, both online and offline marketing methods such as print and online advertising, email marketing, social media etc.
You will be a collaborative team player and work closely with your brands’ busy editorial and sales teams, events team, and our external designer to help fulfil campaign requirements. This is a fast-paced role for someone keen to learn quickly and develop their career in B2B events marketing, with an opportunity to gain more responsibility as your role goes on.
You will have to manage a large, varied workload and will be working within a supportive and nurturing environment. You will be expected to support the Head of Events Marketing and the wider marketing and events team across the division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the marketing team to deliver an engaging marketing campaign across multiple annual events.
- Co-ordinate promotional activity across key channels: email, web, social media, print, ensuring consistent messaging.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of email campaigns
- Write and edit high-quality, compelling promotional copy for marketing emails, social media posts, and adverts that are tailored to the specific audience.
- Manage social media communications, including the scheduling of X and LinkedIn posts.
- Regular reporting of social media, online traffic, and email campaigns.
- Build, maintain, and update event websites – training on our platform to be provided.
- Produce digital event assets, adverts, banners, and brochures, either independently or working with design, whilst liaising with the relevant teams to deliver on schedule and within agreed budgets.
- To ensure that all work undertaken is completed to deadline and to the high standards expected, within budget.
- Understand data selection by working with the data team to maintain existing data and identify new sources of data for future growth.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, building an understanding of audience across the events portfolio, identifying key competitors and opportunities.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on campaign progress and potential concerns.
- Attend and assist at events.
- Assist the marketing team where needed, and carry out any other ad hoc duties as requested.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant marketing experience (B2B Event Marketing experience highly desirable)
- Exceptional copywriting, written English, and proofreading skills are essential for this role
- Social Media experience is essential, preferably experience with social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite. (Paid social experience desirable)
- Understanding of marketing principles, developments, and best practice
- Demonstrated experience in campaign management
- Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Computer literate with good knowledge of I.T. including Office packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Canva experience is desirable)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent advantageous
- Experience updating websites and SEO is desirable
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
