Base Location: This is an office-based role, Monday to Friday, primarily based in our Ruislip office.
Some flexibility is required, as you’ll also be working from our Croydon office on certain days.

Salary: £26,000 – £27,500 DOE + Commission

 Trading as emap for its B2B division, Metropolis International is a fast-growing business, privately owned Media Group with over £50m of annual revenue, structured in two divisions – consumer media, and business-to-business media. In both parts of the business, we run print magazines, digital content and both face-to-face and virtual awards, conferences, and other events. Metropolis is actively looking at acquiring more media businesses. We employ over 480 people in offices in Croydon, Fleet street,  Devon and Dublin.

PTQ and DigitalRefining are leading magazine and website, providing the latest developments affecting the global refining, gas and petrochemical processing industries. Decarbonisation Technology focuses on the strategies, legislation and technologies powering the transition to sustainable fuels and energy.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To increase print and digital advertising sales in existing products, as well as help launce advertising sales in new titles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management of a strong existing client base
  • Selling and developing relationships, by phone, email, virtually or in person
  • Renewing business and expanding accounts with existing clients
  • Canvassing potential new advertisers
  • Sourcing sales leads from competitor magazines, online, show exhibitors and lapsed advertisers
  • Reporting sales figures on a weekly basis
  • Working to personal and team targets
  • 25 effective telephone calls per day
  • Travel to external meetings and trade shows
  • Access agreed company platforms to perform your work duties and responsibilities

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of exceeding sales targets in a sales environment
  • A track record of building robust relationships with clients
  • Highly organised with good time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good Microsoft office skills, including word, excel and PowerPoint
