The PPA has launched Find Yourself in Publishing, a new campaign designed to showcase career opportunities in the publishing industry. Developed in collaboration with the PPA Next Gen Board, the initiative aims to support individuals exploring their career options or considering a transition into publishing.

The campaign’s website, findyourselfinpublishing.com, features real-life stories from industry professionals, practical CV-writing tips, job listings, and an interactive quiz to help users discover roles that match their skills.

This initiative builds on the PPA Next Gen Board’s launch in 2023, part of the PPA’s ongoing efforts to amplify young and diverse voices within the magazine and special interest media sector.

PPA CEO Sajeeda Merali commented:
“Publishing has evolved into a dynamic and innovative sector, offering a wide range of career opportunities. This industry drives change in areas people are passionate about and welcomes talent from all backgrounds. Our goal with this campaign is to raise awareness of publishing as a career path, highlight the incredible brands within our member portfolio, and showcase the breadth of skills we seek. Whether you’re starting out or considering a career pivot, publishing offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in an ever-evolving industry.”

The campaign highlights different professionals from diverse publishing roles and talks about the journeys they’ve taken to get in to the publishing industry. We hear from the stories of:

  • Josephine Judd – Commerce Picture Editor
  • Aimee Jakes – Trending Content Editor
  • Gift Egbedi – Brand Marketing & Communications
  • Alice Redman – Editor
  • Rebecca Taylor – Commercial Content Editor
  • Hiten Vara – Paid Search Manager

Supporting the campaign is a podcast series, I Found Myself in Publishing. Episodes are released fortnightly on a dedicated YouTube channel, as well as on all major podcast platforms. The series follows PPA Next Gen Board members as they share candid stories about their career journeys, from unexpected pivots to innovative problem-solving in an ever-changing industry.

With this initiative, the PPA aims to open doors for the next generation of publishing professionals, encouraging fresh talent to explore the wealth of opportunities within the industry.
