Last night the Professional Publishers Association Awards was held at The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) in the City of London, and what a night it was!
The PPA Awards are the Oscars of the publishing industry, and emap’s brands, events and people were up for ten different nominations in seven different categories. We are absolutely delighted to have been successful in being awarded two Awards by the judging panel.
We were delighted that Ingrid Fuchs for Nursing Times won the Columnist/Expert Contributor of the Year Award. Ingrid wrote a series of blogs for Nursing Times while living with breast cancer. Ingrid sadly passed away last year, but we wanted to share her columns with as wide an audience as possible. Here’s what the judges had to say about Ingrid and her entry: “Ingrid’s writing as incredibly honest, powerful and moving. She charted her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment as both a healthcare professional themselves and as a patient, using their own experience and industry title to provide a truly authentic and informative account”.
You can read Ingrid’s blog posts here, for free.
Our second win of the evening also came for Nursing Times, our team being awarded Event of the Year (Business Media) for Nursing Times Workforce Summit & Awards which was held in November 2022. The event brought together hundreds of nursing workforce professionals to discuss how they tackle the biggest staff crisis faced by the NHS in decades. Expert contributors facilitated roundtable discussions with outcomes shared post-event. A virtual companion event held one week prior was free to attend for thousands of nurses who would have otherwise been unable to attend in-person. The judges said of the event: “We were very impressed with this event as it considered the audience journey, offered multiple points for engagement and showed strong commercial performance.”
The whole of the emap Publishing and Metropolis International team send our warm congratulations and best wishes to Jean va den Elsen, Ingrid’s husband, who was able to collect the award on her behalf, and to all of our teams involved in the success of Nursing Times Workforce Summit & Awards. To be awarded with industry recognition is an outstanding achievement.
Equal congratulations is due to the eight other nominations from our business which were just pipped at the post; we are proud of everyone shortlisted. Our teams are the best!
